Dan Parker

Trainer/Supervisor
A retiree from the Terre Haute P.D. He was assigned to the Organized Crime & Narcotics Unit for 9 years working undercover specializing in Outlaw Motorcycle Gangs. He was the first K-9 Dual Purpose Handler/Trainer for Terre Haute P.D. Dan is a state certified instructor through the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy and a certified K-9 Instructor/Trainer through VLK. He has instructed seminars in several states and taught many basic classes at VLK. He has certified dogs with NNDDA, State of Indiana & the State of Oklahoma. Dan has judged K-9 competitions throughout the US and recently traveled to Afghanistan training Afghan handlers on VLK Bomb Dogs destined to protect their President Karzai

Bobby Roettger

Trainer
Bobby served as a police officer for 9 years in Connersville Indiana where he was a member of the K-9 unit working a Dual Purpose Narcotic dog on patrol and as a team leader for SWAT. Bobby is an NNDDA certifier, a graduate of VLK Trainers Course and has been a guest instructor for VLK on numerous occasions from 2000 - 2003. In January 2004 Bobby became a full time trainer. Bobby has judged   K-9 competitions and instructed seminars in several states to include Tennessee, North Carolina, Utah, Indiana and Ohio. Bobby has traveled to Afghanistan training Afghan handlers on VLK bomb dogs.

Luis Rodriguez

Trainer
Welcomed in January 2007. 9 years experience as Head Trainer of the K-9 Unit with the Puerto Rico Department of Corrections. Graduate of VLK Trainers Course. Fully bilingual Spanish and English.

Eric See

Trainer
Served U.S. Navy, 3 years, Gunners Mate/Search and Rescue Swimmer. Returning to Denver. IN to serve as the Kennel Master At V.L.K., managing 115-160 dogs, plus 12 staff for 3 years. Completed 3 tours in Iraq, military and private explosive detector dog. After my return I was promoted to V.L.K. training staff, specializing in green and police service dogs.

David Glasure

Trainer
Raised in Ohio, David spent 10 years with the U.S. Army serving in Desert Storm. A graduate of the VLK Explosive Detector Handlers Course in 2003, he went on to work security contracts for VLKCS in Iraq. Completed the VLK Trainer’s Course in January of 2008, David has trained and worked with both police and military. He also acts as the Superintendent of Maintenance for all VLK facilities.

Luther McDonald

Trainer
Luther began his employment at VLK in November 2004 as a kennel handler, progressing through the ranks eventually becoming Kennel Master. He completed the VLK handler’s course in November 2006. Upon Completion of the handlers’ course, Luther built experience working numerous contract security jobs, through VLK, with an explosive detection K-9. Luther is a 2008 graduate of the VLK trainer’s course, has completed a six-month apprenticeship, and has taught numerous courses. Luther is currently in charge of training the U.S. Army Combat Tracking Handlers, the first unit of its type since the Vietnam War.

John Dickman

Trainer
John joined the VLK staff in late 2003 as a Kennel Handler quickly moving up to the Kennel Master position. In 2005 John became a graduate of the Dual Purpose Handler Course and soon left for Iraq. John obtained his experience as a handler working for VLKCS, Dept. of State and Dept. of Defense for 3 years. After returning from his tour, he attended and graduated the VLK Trainers Course. This earned him a position on the VLK trainers Staff where he has been working with Law Enforcement, Security Details and the TSA projects.

Yasmin Gonzalez

Trainer
After serving 4 years in the U.S.A.F. as a Security Specialist and K-9 Handler Jaz attended and graduated from VLK Handler and Trainer Courses. Jaz completed 3 tours in Iraq as a private contractor K-9 Handler. She was assigned to security details for the Republican and Democratic National Conventions, United Nations Global Assembly, Ambassador Protective detail in Baghdad, as well as foreign dignitary details. Jaz is fully bilingual in Spanish and English.
